Dubai Autism Awareness Month will begin on April 2. People eager to take part in the event have the option of paying Dh50 per person and attend the fun-filled Autism Rocks Festival on April 1. Those attending may tag their families along with them. The event will host American rappers like Flo Rida and Tyga, who will perform live for the audience and raise awareness about autism. The aim of the event is to make donations for the research of the disorder, change the perception of people suffering from autism in the community, and show support for them
The event would be organized by the Dubai-based couple, Sanjay Shah Denmark, and Usha Shah. Usha told XPRESS that the need to create awareness of autism arose from a personal commitment. They wanted to organize the event for people with autism. The event would provide greater exposure of autistic children, thus encouraging more research into the causes of the disorder and actions that can be done about the condition.
Autism Rocks, which is a live concert and charity event, was founded in 2014. The event has raised over £600,000 by hosting famous artists like Drake, Prince, Michael Buble, and Lenny Kravitz in London and Dubai. The couple chose Flo Rida and Tyga because they have a young vibe, and can easily relate to the youth. The event will be held in partnership with 117 Live, which is a subsidiary of Al Ahli Holding.
